Strongest Possible Manchester United XI To Play This Season Fitting In Zlatan, Pogba And Mkhitaryan In The Same Line Up

Finally, the longest running transfer saga of this summer has been completed. Paul Pogba is on his way back to Manchester United and even though the club celebrated a Community Shield victory over Leicester City recently but the Pogba signing has to be the talk of the country.

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have spent a lot of money into making a brilliant side for this season but they do have a lot of players who would be looking to make it into their starting XI. We must understand that United do not need to pay a lot of attention to the Europa League also.

Winning the Premier League would be the most important thing for United and with the signings they have, it should not be a problem. Jose Mourinho might have a tough task on his hands of making everyone happy but he is the one who makes the final call and this could and should be the starting XI of the Premier League team if everyone is fit.

Defence and goalkeeper

Starting with the goalkeeping department, there cannot be anyone better than David de Gea. United might have Sergio Romero in the side but the Spaniard is the one who keeps his place in the side and cannot be moved away.

The central defence is one area which needed a lot of quality and Jose Mourinho brought that in with Eric Bailly. The former Villarreal defender did not have the best of games in the Charity Shield but he should continue in his position and he would be partnered in defence by Chris Smalling.

The English defender was one of the best in his position last season and that should enable him to keep his place in the starting XI. The left-back slot would be taken up by a fit and raring to go Luke Shaw. The 21-year-old missed a lot of the season last time around but he should be the one who stars down the left flank for United.

The player as the right-back should be Marcos Rojo, even though the Argentine has not had the best of times since he moved to the Premier League.

Midfield

Well, the midfield should have Paul Pogba driving the team forward and coming back to defend as well. The former Juventus man is one of the best in the world and he should start for the team, no two ways about it.

Pogba should be ably helped by another tough midfielder and that could be Morgan Schneiderlin. The Frenchman was linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer but if he is given the right manager to work under, he should thrive for the side.

Attack

This is where the crux of the changes takes place. Manchester United must start with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up and the Swede should make it to the top of the attack. Zlatan would be aided by Wayne Rooney but the Manchester United captain would not be playing alongside the Swede but he would be playing just behind him, trying to link up with him if and when possible.

This leaves just two slots open for the team and one player out wide has to be Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian might be better down the middle but he is equally good if he is played on the wings. The final position in the team should be a battle between Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay.

The French youngster though would easily defeat the likelihood of Depay playing out wide as the attacker had a great first season for United and should continue playing for them under Mourinho also.

There are some big names who do miss out such as Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and even Daley Blind but this is the strongest Manchester United line-up that is possible if things go right and if all the players play up to their potential, United could be celebrating a number of titles this season under Jose Mourinho.
