United somehow managed to grab a winner in their last fixture of the Barclays Premier League. And next up for the Devils will be White Hart Lane. Pochettino’s side is looking confident and will be looking to gun down their opponents after their bitter 1-0 defeat in the team’s previous fixture (Manchester United vs Tottenham).
Last Sunday, United became the first team to score 1000 premier league goals at home when Rashford and the substitute Fosu-Mensah combined to set a goal for the young French man Anthony Martial. Well, that was a tough encounter between the sides as Jagielka once hit the crossbar and then saw his thunderous shot saved by De Gea.
In that game, Van Gaal made no changes to the squad that defeated Manchester City but this time, the Dutchman surely have to make some changes as some of the players are fit and are ready to play the game. Though Van Gaal has been criticized heavily due to his poor tactics, they have an interesting stat that, they have lost just 2 out of their last 6 games in the premier league and have won against the big guns like Arsenal (3-2), Manchester City (1-0) and Everton (1-0).
Tottenham in the other hand, are the side who are battling for the title against Leicester City and are close to achieve their dream. Comparatively, Leicester have some tough games coming towards them and looking at this, Tottenham will do anything to keep their chances of winning the league alive. Spurs have given some remarkable performances this season and they won’t allowing anyone to come between them and the title.
This will a very close encounter between the sides as both will be looking to cancel each other out but, of course, Tottenham will be having an upper hand in the game as they have their home advantage and are tactically the favourites.

Goalkeeper: David De Gea-
As expected, did a fantastic job to clear out the chances created by Everton in the last game. He was as solid as a wall in front of the goal. He has the faith of the manager and the squad and can surely go down as one of the best in his department. At this very young age, he is capable of doing wonders and is counted between the best keepers of all time.
Defence: Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Blind, Darmian-
This would be a tricky choice for the manager as Ashley Young is also available who can play on either flank but what I feel, Fosu-Mensah should be given his chance as the player’s confidence this season is sky high and Young has just returned from his injury, so playing him in this decisive game may harm United some way or the other. Smalling and Blind will be continuing their job in the middle and Darmian can switch to the left flank replacing the stumbling Marcos Rojo.
Midfield: Lingard, Scheiderlin, Herrera, Mata, Martial-
As Herrera is now available to start the game, he might replace Michael Carrick whose performance this season have been questioned by the fans. Herrera can play alongside Scheiderlin or can work in the central position and Scheiderlin will be doing his job in the deep midfield role. Lingard and Martial will be attacking the Tottenham’s post from their flanks and Mata will be guiding the striker as well as the men on the flanks by playing at the number 10 position.
Striker: Marcus Rashford-
He has become the key member of his team who sometimes swaps the position with Martial during the games. He is very agile and is maturing day after day. With Rooney still out injured, Rashford will remain the key figure for United in this game.
