Manchester United’s 20-year Old Mexican Target Under The Microscope – Everything You Need To Know

While Jose Mourinho took his first press conference as Manchester United manager, he did speak about getting more targets into the club. The Premier League side have already captured the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and another player who seems to be on the radar is Hirving Lozano.

The 20-year-old winger plays for one of Mexico’s biggest clubs, Pachuca and has even made a number of appearances for the senior Mexican side. Lozano joined Pachuca in 2009 as part of the youth team and he did show his ability in his first league game as he scored just five minutes after coming on.

Jose Mourinho isn’t known for bringing in youngsters to a club or even playing them so why is the Premier League club so interested in Lozano?

A tricky winger who can score

The biggest concern for any winger in any league is the lack of goals, something which isn’t a problem for Lozano at the moment. The 20-year-old has steadily increased the number of goals in each season and in the 2015-16 Liga MX he did score 12 goals in just 40 games, which isn’t the worst return for a winger.

Lozano also has a goal from his seven appearances for Mexico and is seen as a player who can consistently play well for the senior side. He even played a part for the Mexican side in the recently concluded Copa America Centenario and provided an assist in one of the games.

The greatest ability that Lozano has is his pace and he is seen as someone who likes to attack the defence and go straight at them. The Mexican can play anywhere in the front line but he is best suited to playing out on the wings.

He is right footed but like most of the wingers now, he plays on the left and prefers to cut in. Lozano is known for his ability to pick out a player with his pass and often runs with the ball to create havoc for the opposition.

Lozano isn’t someone who will straightaway fit into the Manchester United XI but he is seen as a player for the future. Who knows where he could find himself at the end of the season if he does join seeing that Manchester United do not really have a lot of quality attackers and the likes of Memphis Depay and Juan Mata could leave the club.

We saw how last season many United youngsters got a chance to showcase their talent under Louis van Gaal and it would be worth seeing just how Lozano does fit into the team if he does move to Manchester.
