A Dream Team: Manchester United vs Chelsea Combined XI Featuring 5 Red Devils And 6 Blues

Combined XI – Manchester United vs Chelsea

Jose Mourinho’s men prepare themselves for a tricky test against the league leaders Chelsea, just days after an unsettlingly long trip to Brussels in the Europa League earlier in the week. The Red Devils are just outside the top-4 and a victory in this game can do them a lot of good in their fight for a place in the Champions League next season. Conte’s side, on the other hand, are comfortable at the top of the table but a loss at Old Trafford this weekend can certainly open up things at the top. Both sides have some star players who have been consistent this season.

Manchester United & Chelsea Combined XI:

Formation: 4-4-2

GK – David de Gea (Manchester United)

Though Chelsea’s Courtois has more clean sheets, De Gea has had a lot more to do, behind a weaker defense and hence finds a place in this squad.

RB – Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

Though Victor Moses has been extremely productive for Chelsea, Valencia has been consistent and has helped United in almost every game and is the only Manchester United defender to make it to this lineup.

CB – Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)

The Spanish defender has worked wonders on the right-hand side of a three-man defence for Chelsea but he should be a part of a two-man defense in this lineup.

CB – David Luiz (Chelsea)

The Brazilian star has been one of the best defenders in the league this season and he should edge each of United’s players and Gary Cahill for a spot in this team.

LB – Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

The Italian star only joined Chelsea this summer but has been in impeccable form and has very little competition to get into this team.

RW – Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United)

Another summer buy who finds his place into this team is United man Mkhitaryan. He has been in superb form of late and will be one of the most exciting stars to watch out for in this tie.

CM – Ander Herrera (Manchester United)

The Spaniard has been Manchester United’s most consistent midfielder this season and he beats the likes of Pogba and Matic for a place in this side.

CM – N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

The midfield beast for Chelsea, Kante has been one of the best players in his position in Europe and is unchallenged for his place in this XI.

LW – Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Completing the midfield should be Chelsea’s Eden Hazard who has been in brilliant form for the Blues. He will be the danger man for Chelsea in this game.

ST – Zlatan Ibrahimović (Manchester United)

The Swedish star is the top goal scorer for United this season and has been one of the most productive forwards in Europe this season. His place in this team is guaranteed.

ST – Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Another player whose place in the team is 100% sure is Diego Costa. The Spaniard has also been in terrific goalscoring form and will partner Zlatan in this lineup.

This is how they would line up:
