Manchester United: Top Four Nemanja Vidic Replacements To Look Into

Manchester United’s veteran defender Nemanja Vidic’s contract ends in the summer has confirmed that he is ready to leave Old Trafford once and for all and while manager David Moyes had spoken to him regarding an extension and possibility to stay at the red half of Manchester, Vidic decided it was time to move on.

“I have decided that I will move on at the end of this season,” said Vidic, in a statement released by United. I want to challenge myself again and try to make the best of myself in the coming years. I’m not considering staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play for here is Manchester United and I was lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years. I’ve got a few options to move on and I will choose the right one for me and for my family.”

David Moyes thus has a huge job on his hands on to find a suitable replacement for the Serbian to cover the void at the back. As the Scot looks for the possible replacements, we here at Soccersouls provide our readers four options for the Red Devils.

Andrea Ranocchia:

Andrea Ranocchia

An integral part of the Inter Milan squad who look rejuvenated under new manager Walter Mazzari, Ranocchia remains perhaps a long term solution for Vidic’s boots. The Italian International is sure to be in the thirty man squad for his country in Brazil for the World Cup and despite his tender age of 25 (quite young for a defender), he has a very calm head. The Inter man is a no nonsense defender, brilliant in the air and is technically astute. Ranocchia’s reluctance to extend his contract in Italy might mean United could cash in but it remains to be seen if Inter do sell one of their hottest young prospects.
