Manchester United To Be Involved In A Transfer Move With AS Roma – Has Mourinho Sanctioned This?

Matteo Darmian

Gazzetta dello Sport, has reported that AS Roma are preparing to bid for Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian in the coming days.

The new United boss Jose Mourinho is not a big fan of Darmian and there are speculations that the Portuguese could off-load the player as he looks to reshape the squad in the summer. However the Red Devils are unwilling to let go of Darmian for anything less than £12.7 million.

Roma’s Rudiger and Rui has been injured and the Italian giants are looking to find some reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

“(Rui’s) injury is very costly to us because it comes in combination with that of Rudiger”, said Luciano Spalletti, the AS Roma manager.

“Earlier we were close to fixing our defence, but now we need to operate on it again.

“Considering our numbers against the matches and the championship we have to play, we must be ready. We’re looking for two defenders, the club agrees with me on that.”

The 26 year old also has an interest from Napoli and Besiktas but Roma are said to be leading the race with a bid already prepared to be launched. The report also claims that the club also have a plan B ready in Danio D’Ambrosio in case their Matteo Darmian bid fails.

Well, if they offer the asking price by United, the deal is very much possible.
