One of Manchester United’s biggest captures of the summer, just prior to their tour of the USA in pre-season, Morgan Schneiderlin has been up to the mark till now and looks quite comfortable at Old Trafford. The Frenchman is already a fan favourite and had caught the attention of many supporters with some of his calm, composed performances till now.
The 25 year old midfield superstar was signed for approximately £25m and spoke to Le Parisien about how he signed for Louis van Gaal’s side. Schneiderlin said, “When the agreement was reached between the two clubs, I was on pre-season with Southampton in Austria, and Manchester United were leaving for the USA the next day. I left straight away, passed my medical at 4 AM, and signed the papers the next day. Everything happened really quickly because Louis Van Gaal wanted me with the group in America to acclimatise myself.”
Further, talking about his idols from the club, he added, “Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and Cantona, of course, and then there’s Evra. When you speak to the people in Manchester, and all the French people need to know this, Patrice is an idol. He is someone who is unanimously loved by everyone; in the club, as well as outside of it.”
