Manchester United Squad Depth: 2 Possible Lineup’s LVG Can Use Next Season With 2 Sets Of Players

Manchester United

Manchester United seem to go all guns blazing this transfer season and it seems that if one rumor dies down it is replaced by another. With some amazingly gifted players coming to the Theatre of Dreams it seems that the British transfer record holder Angel Di Maria seems to leave United for French league winners Paris Saint Germain. A transfer fee of around 65 million euros is expected to be paid by the Parisian side to acquire the services of the Argentine winger.

Also, Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes seems to be leaving United after joining the club in January. A major twitter row between Valdes and United manager Louis Van Gaal might be the reason and with Van Gaal already signing Sergio Romero as a replacement, Valdes is all set to depart.

However, a major positive the United squad have this season is their squad depth and today we analyze how Louis Van Gaal can rotate the squad to get the best results in England and Europe in all likelihood. We have formed line-up’s using completely different players.

The best possible line-up:

Considering the departure of Di Maria we create the best possible team for United on paper.

GK: David De Gea

No prizes for guessing! The Spanish goalkeeper has been in a fine fettle and if Real Madrid doesn’t make a move for the shot stopper he will surely be one of the first names on the team sheet for Louis Van Gaal.

LB: Daley Blind

The Dutchman occupied the role of a defensive midfielder last season but with stiff competition in the midfield it looks pretty certain that the versatile player could be made to play as a left back and Luke Shaw could occupy more of a backup role to him.

CB: Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling

Rojo and Smalling had a pretty mixed season and more consistency and maturity would be expected from their side. Some strong performances from them are imperative for United’s success in the following campaign.

RB: Matteo Darmian

The Italian international needs to start off well. He very well knows that Antonio Valencia and Rafael would be waiting for their opportunities and if he doesn’t start of well then he could get the same fate as Di Maria received. So a head start is a big must for the full back.

CDM: Morgan Schinederlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger

What a whacky duo this is! A lot would be expected from them and Van Gaal believes that the club’s majority of the share would lie on the shoulders of these midfielders. With Schinederlin looking to provide some extra Premier League experience; Schweinsteiger’s role would be like that of Paul Scholes. The German legend has total experience and immense know-hows with every situation. This duo might just decide the entire fate of United’s campaign in a Giggs-Scholes style.

CAM: Juan Mata

The Spaniard has shown flares of amazingness but has never quite hit the heights the way he did at Chelsea. His goals against Liverpool are very well itched in the minds of every United fan and he needs to carry forward the amazing run of form that he showed in the second half of the previous season.

RW: Memphis Depay

The Dutch starlet has a lot of stepping up to do. The winger has been compared to the likes of Arjen Robben and also as the next Cristiano Ronaldo. He needs to maintain this hype and perform the duties which the departing Angel Di Maria couldn’t for United. After an impressive show with PSV, Depay is all set to dazzle the Premier League and surely all eyes would be on him.

LW: Ashley Young

The quick winger was the revelation of the season and boy he was good. After a lot of criticism from his own fans for his diving antics the Englishman improved his game by four folds. He was part of the majority of attacks last season and provided the creative spark which United lacked under Scottish manager David Moyes. He was pretty influential and Louis Van Gaal never had second thoughts on benching Di Maria to give Young the first team place.

ST: Wayne Rooney

The Englishman has been amazing as always and the only thing that would be expected from him is to win the Golden Boot. The forward was made to play as the No.10 role behind Van Persie or Falcao last season but Van Gaal has confirmed that he would be playing as a total forward and atleast 15 goals are expected from Rooney’s creative foot.
