Manchester United Reveal the Exact Fee of their Summer Signing

Premier League giants Manchester United had to pay just £6.5m to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich, in the summer transfer window. The news was confirmed by chief financial officer of Schweinsteiger’s first club TSV 1860 Rosenheim, as the club received an amount of €38,000 as part of the deal, which saw the German skipper move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had reportedly paid around £15m to complete the move; quite a huge amount for a 31-year-old superstar who had just a year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena. Further, Schweinsteiger had struggled to find his form and was also out injured for quite a substantial part of the previous campaign.

Also, the arrival of Xabi Alonso saw his time being limited in the first team of the German giants, yet manager Louis van Gaal wanted to complete the move.

However, Sandro Sacco in a club statement cleared out certain details. He said, “The transfer fee for Bastian was nine million euros and we were credited for two years. We will receive the payment in two installments, and after deducting the advisor and legal costs, we will receive €19,000. We already received the first installment in August.”
