Things are not going as per plans for Real Madrid and Florentino Pérez at the moment. Back in June, the La Liga giants were all set to sign Manchester United’s David De Gea and Louis van Gaal’s side were looking for a potential replacement back then. However, since the time that the Red Devils demanded Sergio Ramos in return, the deal has seemed unlikely to take place this summer.
Ed Woodward’s status too has transformed due to the deals he has managed to pull off during this transfer window.
The former European champions have messed up talks with Ramos over the signing of a new contract and could possibly lose two of their captains in one transfer window.
Pérez was so worried about the situation that he flew to China to meet the team, who are currently on a pre-season tour, to speak to the Spanish international.
In Marca’s Wednesday edition, it was stated that Pérez would not only get a deal with Ramos, but with other unhappy players as well, which meant Cristiano Ronaldo. They go on to write that Pérez is going to have sort out the Ramos situation sooner rather than later and that the club only have one option in mind for the defender, and that is for him to continue playing for them.
With both players being linked with a move to Old Trafford, it would be interesting to see if a deal does get completed for either one of them any time soon.
