Should Manchester United Really Spend £145 million On This Dynamic Duo From Spain?

Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann

If you want to be a world-class club, you definitely need to have world class talent among your ranks, and if you want to be competitive at the highest level of the football elite, you need to spend a lot of money to lure the most important players in the world, and there’s no doubt about that.

It’s very unlikely that a top ranked player to leave his club in the middle of the season, especially if things are working out properly for both of them and their squad, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be pursued by other teams in order to steal them from their actual home at the end of the season.

So, it’s very natural to see world class teams go crazy to try and sign the best players in the world because they are a guaranteed of success and a nice treat for the fans, and signing these marquee names has a commercial potential too.

A team that’s currently in this position is Manchester United, as the Red Devils haven’t been able to go back to the highest level of the English Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, with failed tenures by David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal and now a mixed season so far under the master tactician Jose Mourinho.

And even if the problem with the Red Devils hasn’t been their squad, considering they have one of the most expensive and loaded rosters in the world, there have been several reports that the Glazers are planning to make a Huge investment during the next summer in order to acquire the best talents in the world and finally go back to contention.

Antoine Griezmann

A player that’s been linked with Manchester United since the start of the season has been Antoine Griezmann, a guy who just doesn’t need an introduction since his recent surge at both Atletico de Madrid and the France national team.

Although, the French dribbler has made very clear that he has no intentions of leaving Cholo Simeone’s side for the time being, but a very lucrative paycheck from Manchester United could easily change all that.

Besides, there has been a lot of interest in pairing Griezmann with one of his current teammates at the Colchoneros, as Jose Mourinho has reportedly been scouting the 22-year-old Saul Niguez as well, as the Spaniard is considered as one of the rising talents in Europe right now and on top of that, he’s represented by Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes, something that could ease negotiations between both parties.

However, this dynamic duo wouldn’t come without a massive investment, as there have been reports that state that these signings could go as high as £145 million, but the Red Devils are more than willing to break the bank once again if that can assure them a bright future.

Bringing those guys to Old Trafford would be a huge deal for Manchester United, and it would definitely mean that they will battle for the title from the beginning which would bring many joys for the fans. Who would not enjoy watching an attack with the likes of Griezmann, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba tormenting opponent’s defenders.
