Martial And Mata Start: Manchester United Predicted Line-Up To Face AFC Bournemouth

It has been a good and healthy week at Old Trafford, as Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United lifted the EFL cup. The victory took above rivals Liverpool in the number of major trophies won in their illustrious history. The Red Devils also managed to get into the next round of the Europa League and will now turn their attention to climbing up the points table in the league. They are currently 6th in the table, just 2 points off Arsenal who are at 4thThey will hope to take maximum points from the home game against AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League up next.

Meanwhile, The Cherries are back in after a demoralising loss to Palace and will have to be at their best to take anything from this game.

Team News:

The manager will be happy with the return of winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who missed the Wembley final with a niggle he recently picked up. He is expected to be back in action this weekend but Phil Jones is expected to remain sidelined for this tie.

Manchester United predicted line-up vs AFC Bournemouth:

Formation (4-2-3-1):

David de Gea (GK):

The Spanish shot-stopper is a sure starter for Manchester United. Who would want to bench one of the best goalkeepers in the world?

Antonio Valencia (RB):

Jose Mourinho’s first choice full-back has been solid at the back for United this season and will start this game at the weekend.

Chris Smalling (CB):

The English defender has cemented a place in the side in the last few games and there is no reason why Mourinho should replace him for this tie.

Eric Bailly (CB):

After a solid performance at the back for the Red Devils at Wembley, Bailly deserves to partner Smalling at the heart of the defense for the home side.

Marcos Rojo (LB):

Though superb as a center back, Rojo was used to decent effect recently on the flank and Mourinho might want to him to play in a similar position against the Cherries.

Ander Herrera (CM):

The Spanish midfielder has been brilliant for Manchester United this season and has been a regular starter for Jose Mourinho. He will start this game as well.

Paul Pogba (CM):

The French sensation is finally getting into his groove since his move to Old Trafford and he will be a danger man to Eddie Howe’s side.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (RW):

Though he missed the Wembley victory with an injury, Mkhitaryan is back in training and is expected to start this game on the right.

Juan Mata (CAM):

The Spanish playmaker was influential in United’s victory in the previous round and Mourinho will hope that he can have a similar effect on this game against the Cherries.

Anthony Martial (LW):

The French star has gathered some momentum in the last few games and is currently high on confidence. He will hope to maintain his form and lift his team to a win.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (ST):

The 26-goal star for United, Zlatan will be the biggest threat to Bournemouth in this game and they will have to keep him quiet in order to have a good shot at getting a result from this game.
