Manchester United Player Ratings vs Yeovil: Herrera And Di Maria Sealed The victory

Manchester United weren’t at their best as they took on Yeovil in the FA Cup but won the game thanks to a couple of goals in the second half. United were matched a lot of times in terms of passion and commitment by the League One club but ultimately talent got them through as goals from Herrera and Di Maria sealed the victory for the Red Devils.

It will come as a relief to Louis Van Gaal as his team were nowhere close to their calibre and were often on the back foot against the League One strugglers but the win was more important for the club than the performance and here are the player ratings for the Red Devils.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Yeovil

David De Gea: 7/10

De Gea wasn’t really troubled much by the Yeovil team and had a pretty easy day in between the sticks for United.

Paddy McNair: 7/10

The Northern Irishman was back in the team and did himself no harm; he didn’t really get troubled a lot and was pretty solid as one of the centre backs.

Chris Smalling: 7/10

Smalling seems to have made a brilliant return to the team and this performance should ensure that he keeps starting games for Manchester United and more importantly Louis Van Gaal.

Tyler Blackett: 6/10

Blackett was brought back into the team as Van Gaal rested a few players and he did a good deputising job for the team.

Rafael Da Silva: 5/10

Was substituted in the second half due to injury, didn’t really do much in the game and would be hoping that his injury is not that severe.

Luke Shaw: 5/10

Another player who was substituted before the second half, Shaw had just made his return to the side and this would be a major blow for him to make a place in the United XI all his own.

Ander Herrera: 8/10

The midfielder got the all-important goal for the team and although didn’t really shine that brightly for United, he did do a job.

Darren Fletcher: 7/10

Darren Fletcher was brought back into the team for United and it seemed that he hasn’t been away from the first team at all, although at times he did look a little lost and slow, more games under his belt should help him.

Wayne Rooney: 6/10

Rooney played the entire game but just didn’t seem like himself as he couldn’t really do much to help his side beat a struggling team.

Radamel Falcao: 6/10

Falcao sadly was not at his best either as he too struggled to get a foothold in the game. Didn’t really create much or looked threatening during the game for United.

James Wilson: 6/10

Wilson was given a chance to shine as he started the game for the Red Devils but he didn’t perform or do anything which could warrant a start in the next game.

Substitutes

Juan Mata: 6/10

Mata was brought on in the second half and the change did help United as they scored a couple of vital goals.

Jonny Evans: 6/10

Evans was brought on as United replaced all their wingbacks as they got injured and he did a decent job to ensure that United don’t produce a slip up.

Angel Di Maria: 7/10

Di Maria played 30 minutes of the game and scored United’s second goal as he still makes his way back to fitness for the team.
