Enough is enough: It’s time for Man United to wave goodbye to their big-money flop and invest elsewhere

Manchester United opinion: The Red Devils must get rid of Sanchez

The Sun has reported that Manchester United winger, Alexis Sanchez has been approached by Serie A giants Inter Milan. The Chilean has had a nightmare since moving to Old Trafford and this may be a deal that benefits both parties.

The Chilean made the move from the Emirates in January last year, which came as a bit of a surprise at the time. United saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way and the move hasn’t been successful for either team.

The Chilean was one of the best players in the league during his time at Arsenal. His fall from grace has come as a surprise to everyone. Now 30 years old, it doesn’t look likely that he’ll be getting his legs back anytime soon.

But it won’t be the first time a player has rejuvenated his career after moving away to a new club and a new league. Sanchez should look at this as an opportunity to find his feet again.

United need Sanchez to leave for many reasons. It’s not only his form but the fact that he’s the highest earner at the club. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer promising to make big changes, he has to start by getting rid of Sanchez.

The Norwegian has a difficult job on his hand and to prove he’s got control over the club, he needs to make some tough decisions.

Inter can look at Sanchez’s prior experience at Udinese as a factor when seeking the move. The Italian league is a very tactical league but it lacks the intensity of the Premier League. Sanchez could use something like that with his ageing legs.

Sometimes in modern football, there are situations which become irreversible. Sanchez’s case is one such and a change in environment could work wonders for the player.

Even though he looks all messed up, this move could work in his favour, purely because the league would be familiar to him. For Manchester United, they can invest the money elsewhere and find a player to suit their needs.

Conclusion

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a massive summer ahead and before he buys anyone, he needs to have a clear-out. Alexis Sanchez going the other way would be the start of something. A move to Inter should benefit all parties.
