Manchester United News: Juan Mata Could Be Involved In A Brilliant £50m Swap Deal For Midfielder

Manchester United incoming boss Jose Mourinho has been given £200million budget for the transfers this summer.

According to the Express Sport, Mourinho is a huge fan of Valencia player Ander Gomes and is looking to bring the player to Old Trafford this summer. But Mourinho, speaking at a university lecture in Lisbon this week, said:

“I won’t be signing any player from Portugal.”

However, it is not clear whether he was talking about the Portuguese league or Portuguese players.

Further, according to reports, Valencia owner Pete Lim has told United to pay £50m for the 22 year old central midfielder.

On the other hand, according to Deporte Valenciano, the price can be reduced significantly if United offer Mata to Valencia in a swap deal.

Mata spent four years at Valencia making 135 appearances in all competitions before joining Chelsea in 2011, but he left Chelsea when Mourinho sold him, as the player was not able to impress with his displays.

With Mourinho coming into United as a new manager Juan Mata’s future at Old Trafford turns uncertain and thus the player is seeking assurances regarding his place in the team before the next season starts.
