Manchester United Look to Hijack Arsenal and Liverpool’s Target

It seems now that Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United have joined the race to sign Arsenal’s target Sergi Samper from Barcelona, as per recent reports from the Daily Star. The 20-year-old superstar has not been able to break into the senior side of the Catalan club though he is one of the best prospects to be promoted from the La Masia academy in recent times.

It seems that manager Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on the progress of the midfielder since the summer transfer window, with league rivals Liverpool also considering a move previously. However, it seems that a move to Old Trafford could now be on the cards after a club scout was spotted for Barca’s Copa del Rey draw against Villanovense, in which the youngster featured.

The midfield superstar has made just four appearances for the senior squad in the previous campaign and played his first game of the season in the recent cup game. With a £8.5m release clause in his current contract, the Premier League giants will surely be interested in signing him soon.
