Manchester United had a very bitter 2015-16 season, and the fans as well as the players will be looking forward to start a new campaign with some fresh hopes.
The team constantly lacked in front of the goal the entire season, and are looking to sign a perfect center forward for the next season.
One of the many targets that Manchester United has identified is the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The player has confirmed that he will be leaving Paris and that has alerted many clubs in Europe.
The 34-year-old Swedish icon is now being linked with a move to the Premier League and Schmeichel is desperate for his former side to snap him up this summer.
‘I read about Ibrahimovic in the newspapers,’ Schmeichel told Sky Sports News HQ.
‘I would love for him to come to Manchester United, I’ve said this for a long time. He was born to play for Manchester United.
‘He’s like an Eric Cantona, who can inspire all the guys in the dressing room but also the supporters.
‘That’s what it’s all about. It’s not about having a Sunday nap at Old Trafford.’
