Manchester United Latest Including Rooney And Varela

Rooney

As per the latest rumours, Wayne Rooney is not leaving Manchester United anytime soon. The United officials have claimed to reject another proposal for the striker from Chelsea.

From the last season, Rooney showed his willingness to change his jersey. His discomfort at the Old Trafford began after the inclusion of Van Persie. The former Gunner took all the limelight last season on and off the field and Rooney was cornered with the assist tag. This is what Rooney was never thought of.

Eventually, he asked for a transfer to then Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson which was turned down by the Scott. After succeeding the manager’s post, David Moyes has kept it strict of not willing to trade the England international.

As a result, Chelsea’s second bid of approximately £25m has been immediately rejected. Earlier in the transfer window, Jose Mourinho admitted that he had made an official proposal for the 27-year old striker.

So far, Rooney scored 197 goals for the Red Devils appearing 401 times for them since his move from Everton in 2004. Coincidentally, Rooney sought a transfer from Everton back in 2004 due to some issues with David Moyes who was then Everton manager. And after nine years, Moyes replaced legendary Scott Fergie in Old Trafford where Rooney currently plays. It now has become an interesting episode to watch for.

In other news, United’s latest signing Guillermo Varela has asked for a loan move to get better exposure. The 20-year old Uruguayan full-back had caught the eyes of the scouts in the FIFA U-20 with his magnificent performance. Since then, Moyes has been keen to sign him and expectedly he had become the first and so-far the solo signing by David Moyes at United.

Keeping the age in mind, the player has been wise enough to understand his limited chances at Old Trafford. But, in order to get accustomed with the professional level, he is eager to spend a season on a loan. Boca Juniors is a possible destination for the Uruguayan, and the defender admitted that he would welcome the move to La Bombonera.

“It could be a good solution,” he told Tutto Mercato Web. I would be able to play continuously for a year but I’d be always thinking about returning to United, who are a club that believed in me.”

Earlier, the Uruguayan used to play as a fullback at Penarol.
