Manchester United Goalkeeper David De Gea’s Release Clause Revealed

A recent report from Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo had featured a small article on Spanish international David de Gea and his contract renewal with Premier League giants Manchester United. There were claims confirming the sources to be British newspaper The Sun over the weekend, which suggested that the 24-year-old superstar’s new contract had a buyout clause of €40m(£30m) in it.

There have been varying claims with different amounts of the clause and various other clauses within the clause though some of them might not exist at all. It would be surprising if the Red Devils would have agreed to the €40m clause deal though the Spaniard renewing his contract without such an assurance would also be shocking.

However, as per reports from the Mundo Deportivo, who covered The Sun, it seems that the original €60m has now been reduced to a new €40m one. Well, if the news is true, De Gea could be heading to the Bernabeu soon and the asking price could already be set for the former European champions, in case they are still keen on signing him.
