Despite dominating the proceedings in the first half, Wenger’s men failed to find the back of the net and as luck would have it, Gibbs’ own goal meant that they had to commit men forward resulting in a deadly counter, which Rooney buried past the helpless Szczesny.

The result boosts United into the Top 4, two points clear of Arsenal, who are now in 8th place. The Red Devils are just 5 points behind Champions Man City.
