Argentine international Angel Di Maria could be heading to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, as speculations about a potential move have intensified over the past few days. According to Le Parisien, Goal France and L’Equipe, the 27-year old attacking midfielder’s transfer should go through soon and the latter claims this weekend will be crucial in the potential deal.
One player who could be heading for an exit from PSG due to the Argentinian’s arrival is his compatriot Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Media outlets in France stated that the left sided winger doesn’t feature in Laurent Blanc’s plans and he has been trying to sell Lavezzi since the January transfer window.
However, L’Equipe stated today that Di Maria’s arrival might change Lavezzi’s situation at the club and he might actually decide to stick around. The two star players are really good friends and the 30 year old forward is apparently excited about playing alongside Maria.
The French newspaper further added that Lavezzi would now consider leaving once his contract with the Ligue 1 champions expires, as he earns a hefty £3.1m a year with one year still remaining.
