According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United target Gerson has now agreed to join European champions Barcelona. The Fluminense star was also wanted by champions of England Chelsea, as manager Jose Mourinho was looking to add more young talented players to his already formidable squad.
However, it now seems that the 18-year old is all set to make a switch to the Nou Camp, ignoring the interest from both the Red Devils and the Blues.
The Spanish outfit Barcelona are still facing a transfer ban until January, but were forced to take action after Juventus submitted a bid to lure him to Turin. The Serie A champions ended up triggering a first refusal from the club, which in turn forced the Catalan side to push for a deal.
With the Premier League giants keen on signing the Brazilian U-20 international, Barca stepped up and held talks with the player and the club in order to seal a deal.
The youngster is still quite inexperienced and is considered a star for the future.
