Manchester United And Chelsea Have Been Put On High Alert As £62million Star Stalls Contract Talks

Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United and Chelsea have been put on high alert as Antoine Griezmann put a hold to discuss his new contract with Atletico Madrid.

The player was earlier approached by the two Premier league clubs before his move from Real Sociedad and this time around there may be a strong battle between the Blues and the Red Devils for the player’s signature. And where Manchester United are involved it is obvious that there will be a lot of money flowing about.

Atletico Madrid are looking to increase the player’s release clause from £62million to £115million so as to ward off interests from big clubs in the player. However Griezmann himself is not in favour of increasing his release clause as he is having second thoughts regarding his future at Atletico.

Chelsea are looking to  bring in the player should Eden Hazard leave Stamford Bridge in summer, while Manchester United find him a cheaper option as compared to their current target Barcelona’s Neymar.
