Manchester City Signing This £637m Spaniard Would Make Guardiola’s Side As Title Favourites

Isco

Why Isco Will Make Manchester City As Firm Title Favourites

The attacking midfielder from Spain has been sensational for Real Madrid over the last two seasons and has booked a permanent place for himself in Zidane’s first-team. However, things weren’t like this until the start of last season.

The 25-year-old was always considered a first-team starter but only under Zinedine Zidane did he really emerge as Real Madrid’s key man. And for his contributions to the side, Isco was awarded with a new long-term contract which will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2022.

According to recent reports, Manchester City are said to be pursuing the Spain international despite him signing a new contract. Manchester City actively pursued Isco when he was at Malaga with former City manager Manuel Pellegrini heading the chase.

Despite the £637m release clause in Isco’s new contract, Don Balon claim that Manchester City could get a deal through with Real Madrid for the Spaniard in the near future. Although it’s hard to imagine City meeting Isco’s massive release clause, anything is possible under the reign of Pep Guardiola. But for reasons known to himself, Isco chose a move to Real Madrid instead.

“For any footballer it’s a dream to play in Madrid. Isco had everything arranged to play for City, but there were reasons that eventually took him there [to Madrid],” said Pellegrini about Isco’s move to Real Madrid.

“I don’t want to analyse those reasons. I understand that he wanted to play in Madrid.”

Isco had made great strides playing under Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga from 2011 to 2013 with the Chilean manager emphasising how successful he could have been by playing in the English Premier League.

Pep Guardiola is said to be a huge admirer of the 25-year-old midfielder and desperately wants him to play under him at the Etihad. English football is an attractive proposition and would be open to playing under Pep Guardiola in the Premier League.

Isco could be the perfect long-term replacement for David Silva who has been an essential part of Manchester City squad since he joined them back in 2010. It’s only fair that a world-class talent like David Silva is replaced by another one and Isco, at the age of 25, has already established himself as one Spain’s finest midfielders.

Manchester City are already dominating the Premier League this season and the addition of Isco in the future will only make them stronger.
