It has been reported for quite sometime now that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is looking to move out of the Santiago Bernabeu after being benched both by Jose Mourinho and his successor Carlo Ancelotti as Manchester City arrives in the picture as a potential suitor for the Spaniard.
Joe Hart who had a pretty average pre-season when compared to his potential, had a disastrous game against Cardiff City letting in three goals last week, which as often has given media houses something to contemplate with. It is even said that Pellegrini could drop Hart in favour of Romania international Costel Pantilimon for the upcoming match against Hull. Manuel Pallegrini now wants a cover for Hart and he has now zeroed in on Casillas. The former Malaga manager believes that form and not reputation should be the only factor in picking up players and thus Hart may have to sit on the bench in the coming matches.
Dailystar are reporting that, CITY are the latest club linked with a move for unsettled Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas and the reports in Spain suggest that Manuel Pellegrini is monitoring the situation after Casillas was once again left on the bench as Real took on Granada on Monday.
Casillas’s capture would sure be a difficult job for the Manchester side but with their financial means, they can pull off any miracle. The Premier League fans would also be extremely eager to witness the Spanish legend in action in their own league.
While City are trying to bring in a veteran goalkeeper to Etihad stadium, they have lost another promising player to Italian champions Juventus. Romanian defender Vlad Nicolae Marin has made his move to the Seria A side. The 18-year old defender has failed to secure a work permit after he moved from Lazio on a free transfer last season and now has moved back to Italy.
This is not the first time that a youngster has left City this season with Denis Suarez leaving Etihad stadium for joining Barcelona. The English side which has had tried to develop a youth set up will not be very pleased with this development.
City will now look to regain their winning touch in this week’s Premier League match against the newly promoted Hull City after stumbling to another new side Cardriff last week.
