Manchester City rose to the top of the table after picking up a 2-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend. Thanks to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, City were able to bridge the gap at the top of the table.
The English Champions now face Hoffenheim in the Champions League and Pep Guardiola will be aiming to pick up a win after losing to Olympique Lyon in the last fixture. Manchester City are unbeaten in their last five Champions League games against German sides and that poses a good record going into this game.
However, Guardiola has also lost five of his last six games in Europe, and that’s as many as he lost in the last 28 before this. City will definitely be favourites going into this game, given they are a free scoring side at the moment.
The Cityzens have racked up a league-high 21 goals this season and are in devastating form going forward. Guardiola has also intensely rotated his squad over the last two weeks, showing his side’s depth and quality.
Hoffenheim, on the other hand, have experienced a mixed season so far and are on the back of a league loss against RB Leipzig. City will definitely be going for the jugular in order to maintain pace at the top.
This game is for the Cityzens to take but it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
