Man Utd replacing Pogba with any of these 2 game-changing superstars is an absolute no-brainer

Two replacements for Paul Pogba Man United should consider in January

According to a report from the Express, Manchester United star Paul Pogba is pushing for a move to Real Madrid.

The Frenchman, 26, admitted he was still uncertain about his future at Old Trafford after last weekend’s impressive 4-0 victory over Chelsea, when he set up his team’s third and fourth goal. With the European transfer window not shutting until September 2, there remains an option for Real Madrid to test Manchester United’s resolve over Paul Pogba in the coming weeks.

Since the start of the summer, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has on numerous occasions insisted he is keen to keep hold of the French World Cup winner. In fact, the Red Devils, now that the transfer market in England is shut, will not sell Paul Pogba.

However, fresh reports suggest Pogba is doing everything possible to join Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid this summer. This has seen United lower their valuation of the midfielder and now demand £146million instead of the original £182m.

Solskjaer’s United would be taking a massive gamble as they are not able to bring in a replacement until January. Should Real Madrid meet United’s discounted valuation for Pogba and sign him, here are two replacements for the Frenchman the Premier League club should consider in January.

1. Bruno Fernandes (Sporting Lisbon)

Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes was linked with Manchester United throughout the summer, but in the end, a move didn’t materialise.

The Portugal international, 24, enjoyed an extraordinary 2018/19 campaign with Sporting, bagging 31 goals in 50 games. He also won the League of Nations with the national team last month, which further enhanced his reputation.

With Pogba angling for a move away from United, Solskjaer might regret not pushing for Bruno Fernandes’ transfer. Nevertheless, the United chief must go for the Portuguese midfielder when the January transfer window reopens to potentially replace Pogba, whilst adding a different flair to his attacking ranks.

2. Piotr Zielinski (Napoli)

Back in August 2017, Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Napoli star Piotr Zielinski.

The Poland international, 25, bolstered his reputation as an exciting creative talent by scoring six goals and assisting twice in 36 Serie A games for Napoli last season.

Predominantly a central midfielder, the 25-year-old is extremely versatile as he can play in various positions across the midfield. Despite not being blessed with a towering frame, Zielinski has great physical skills as well as pace, passing, vision and ability to find the back of the net.

He has quickly developed into one of the best midfielders in Serie A, so bringing in a player who has been tipped to grow into a world star is a no-brainer for United, especially given the Pole’s performances in recent years.
