Man United Have Got A Good Addition For £40m But Chelsea Could Get Better Value For Their Money If They Manage To Sign Renato Sanches

Manchester United have yet again spent insane money on their transfer targets this summer as they look to start their domination again in England post Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement a few years ago. The Red Devils won the Europa League under Jose Mourinho last season but need a few additions to the squad to help them compete at the highest level next season and the latest addition to the squad at Old Trafford is Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic.

It has been officially announced by the Red Devils that Matic has joined the club. As reported by BBC, the fee is believed to be £40m, with the Serbian signing a 3-year deal with Manchester United. Antonio Conte has spent on Tiemoue Bakayoko for his midfield, which would have had Matic, who was the first choice for the club last season, drop down the pecking order.

So it does not come as a surprise that the two-time Premier League winner decided to quit the club this summer. But this move will mean that the Red Devils might not pursue their long-term transfer target Renato Sanches, who is up for grabs this window.

The Portuguese international earned a dream move to Bayern Munich last summer but he failed to establish himself in the first team under Carlo Ancelotti, who is ready to offload him on a loan deal this summer. The likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested but with United signing Matic, they are not expected to experiment on Sanches next season.

This might pave a clear path for Chelsea to sign the 19-year old dynamic midfielder and there are many reasons why Manchester United should try and stop this deal.

The Blues already have an explosive midfield partnership with the likes of N’Golo Kante and Bakayoko, with both possessing some tremendous energy to run the game. Spanish star Cesc Fabregas will add the much-needed creativity from the bench, lending a decent balance to the side.

The Blues will only fall short if there are injuries to any of the three names and if they do, they have very little in terms of top class replacements. Mourinho’s £40m deal for Matic should technically improve his team and dent his opponents but if Chelsea manage to sign Sanches, he will never be too far away from the first team and could turn into a match winner very quickly under Conte.

Matic is a good addition for Manchester United but if Chelsea replace him with Renato Sanches on loan, the Blues would surely be getting a better value for their money in this whole deal.
