Man United Transfers – Postivies All Round As Fabregas Still Reamins A Possibility And Chelsea’s Rooney Bid Rejected

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta told a Spanish newspaper United have “renounced his signing”

However, BBC Quotes that Manchester United remain keen to land the former Arsenal skipper at Old Trafford despite Barca’s claim that United had given up on him.

Having already seen two bids rejected by Barcelona for the 26-year-old it is alleged that United will smash their transfer record of £30.75m to sign the coveted midfielder and with less than a month until the window shuts down, every passing day will be important for David Moyes.

Talking to the press in Israel, where the Catalan giants are currently on tour, Zubizarreta told Spanish newspaper Sport the player is going nowhere.

“Manchester United are interested in the player, but it’s also true that they understand our position of not wanting to sell,” said the ex-Spain goalkeeper. They have renounced his signing. We aren’t going to sell him.”

“He has a contract with us. We count on Cesc. He’s an extraordinary player who creates and finishes chances. We are delighted with him. He’s the number four of Barca.”

Gerardo Martino, Barca’s newly appointed manger earlier had claimed that he would prefer if Cesc stays but also admitted that it is his[Cesc’s] decision that will count which leaves United with a glimmer of hope.

When quizzed about Fabregas’s situation, his former manager at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger believes that the midfielder will stay at Spain, no matter what.
“What I know is Fabregas will stay one more year at least in Barcelona,” said the Frenchman. “That’s the information I have. If that changes, I don’t know, but that is what I have been told.”
Wenger knows that Fabregas has a clause in his contract which makes Arsenal the first preference should he opt to move out, but then when he insists that Cesc will stay, there is something that you have to observe there.
In other news, Manchester United have reportedly rejected Chelsea’s latest offer for Wayne Rooney, believed to be at somewhere between £25million and £30m. The Metro quotes that,
A United spokesman said: ‘A bid was received yesterday and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale.’
After having already rejected an initial £20m bid last month, this is the second time that United are rejecting an offer for their wantaway striker.
