Man United letting their promising 21-year-old starlet leave in the summer would be nothing but a blunder

Manchester United Opinion: Spurs want Dean Henderson – should United keep him?

The Daily Mail has reported that another young Manchester star has been linked with a move away, and this time it’s Dean Henderson. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has been in great form on loan at Sheffield United, and this form has attracted the likes of Bayern Munich, Tottenham and even Juventus, they look towards the future.

While the 21-year-old Manchester United star is yet to make an appearance for the senior side, Henderson still has seen his stock skyrocket in recent reasons. His performances for Shrewsbury Town on loan last season saw him get inducted into the League One Team of the Season.

This, combined with his performances so far this season, shows that the Red Devils have another gem on their hands. Dean Henderson’s performances last season saw him do enough to earn a two-year deal with Manchester United, but at the moment, that has only eighteen months left in it.

This does give the Red Devils a big problem as they look to fight off Bayern Munich, Juventus and Tottenham to keep the 21-year-old goalkeeper at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have David De Gea as their main goal-keeper, Sergio Romero, 31 and Lee Grant, 36 as the back-up choices. Neither Romero nor Grant has done much to keep their place in the team, so it’s a weird mystery that Manchester United opted to sign Grant in the summer instead of promoting someone who is very promising.

While that may have proved to be a smart move, with Henderson clearly flourishing for Sheffield United, it does pose an even bigger problem for Manchester United. Now the Red Devils need to take a stern approach towards the situation.

Verdict

The starlet needs to be convinced that his future is at Old Trafford. Otherwise, it will affect their future.
