Man City’s future would be sorted for years if Guardiola lands this 20-year-old La Liga starlet in the summer

Manchester City opinion: Guardiola wants Alberto Soro – good move ?

Spanish news outlet Sport has reported that Manchester City have taken a keen interest in La Liga starlet Alberto Soro. Currently contracted to Real Zaragoza, the 20-year-old has seen himself become one of the most-wanted youngsters in world football.

Half of La Liga’s top sides are interested in a move according to Sport, which shows just how good the young midfielder is. Undoubtedly talented, Soro has the ability to play anywhere across midfield and is quick enough to play as a winger on either side.

However, he flourishes best as a number 10, which allows all of his best attributes to be put to use. It’s there, between the lines that the youngster does his best work, making himself a creative menace.

Blessed with great technique and agility, the 20-year-old puts it to great use by scoring goals and combining with his team-mates. His greatest asset is his vision and creativity in the final third. He’s shown glimpses of his talent every now and then but has lacked consistency. This could of course change over time.

The rise of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus, and even Oleksandr Zinchenko is a testament to Guardiola’s coaching and Soro should take inspiration from that.

While Manchester City have had their problems with youngsters leaving, they’ve also managed to integrate some of the brightest prospects in world football.

The young Spaniard has combined his ability with a strong mentality to adjust to the La Liga, which has seen him start 7 out of the last 10 games in the Spanish top-tier.

Manchester City need a player of his ability, especially with David Silva not getting any younger. While they do see Bernardo Silva as his heir apparent, Real Madrid also believe that the Portuguese star is an ideal candidate to replace Luka Modric (Mirror).

Bernardo Silva has enjoyed a fantastic season and Manchester City may have a hard time keeping him at the club. However, even if they do let him go, which is highly unlikely, few replacements would be as ideal as Alberto Soro.
