Ever since his arrival at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has started a dynasty. The first thing he did was get rid of all the deadwood at the club and replace them with younger talent. It took him a while to form his team in his image. Hence, the struggles in his first season.
But since then, we can clearly see the difference the former Barcelona manager has made. However, they need a few more adjustments to the team before they truly become conquerors of Europe.
At the moment, the Cityzens have done phenomenally well in the English top-tier but they’ve struggled in the Champions League. They’ve managed to reach the quarter-finals so far, losing to Liverpool and Tottenham over the last few seasons.
If Guardiola wants to prove to the world that he can make it without a certain Barcelona superstar in Europe’s biggest tournament, he’ll need more. That’s exactly why Sky Sports has reported that Manchester City are keen on a move for Joao Felix.
A world-class talent, the young Benfica starlet has taken the Liga Nos by storm this season, making himself an absolute menace.
His abilities have been on full show this season, scoring 18 goals and creating 11 more. A highly versatile player, Joao Felix prefers to play as an attacking midfielder or just behind the striker, but can play on either wing or even as a centre-forward if required.
Very creative with and with an eye for a pass, the 19-year-old has the ability to find teammates in the tightest of situations and is excellent in the final third. That’s a rare skill in this day and age but it’s his versatility that makes him a very important star for Manchester City.
They need that kind of versatility, which is a lot like what Bernardo Silva has done for the club this season. The Portuguese has been a human dynamo and while Felix is a completely different player, the 19-year-old will be able to make an impact.

Joao Felix is one for the future and with time, the 19-year-old has the potential to become one of the best in the game. Signing him would help them rotate the squad well and shine in Europe next season.
That potential, with a manager like Pep Guardiola to help nurture it will only grow and help the youngster develop fully. Exactly like what has happened to Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane among many others.
