Man City keep hold of this youth talent amidst Real Madrid interest – Agree?

Why Man City should retain Brahim Diaz amidst Real Madrid interest

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in signing young Manchester City starlet Brahim Diaz. There are two reasons regarding this development – first, the potential this player has at the tender age of 19; and second, his contractual situation with the Cityzens since his current deal will expire next summer.

Diaz joined the youth Manchester City team in 2013 from Malaga and has impressed many around the club. He scored two goals in a recent EFL Cup tie versus Fulham at the Etihad Stadium. The Spain U21 star is slowly but surely showcasing his talents anytime he receives an opportunity to shine on the big stage.

As per reports from Sky Sports, manager Pep Guardiola is hoping that the 19-year-old stays at the club without assuring him of first-team action. The former Barcelona manager is keen to see Diaz in the City colours beyond this season.

It may not be easy for the club as the player isn’t getting much playing time and could be looking for an exit. However, they should do everything to keep the young Spaniard at the Etihad stadium beyond next summer. Here’s why:

Brahim Diaz – A talented prospect

Brahim Diaz is a versatile attacking midfielder who can operate either as a No. 10 or on the wings as per the requirement of the manager. He was one of the best players in the Manchester City youth team, influencing Guardiola to hand him chances at the top level.

If a youngster can convince the current City manager of his qualities, he is a seriously talented player. He showed his propensities while playing the two Carabao Cup games and depicted that he has what it takes to be a Cityzens’ player in the near future.

As mentioned above, Pep is keen to keep the 19-year-old at the Etihad Stadium, and the club should concur with that and offer him a new deal. The young Spaniard has a lot of time to develop under one of the best managers in the world and become the real deal in a few years from now.

It is never easy to say no to a club like Real Madrid. But if the Premier League champions extend his current deal, talks of this transfer would most probably fade away.

Manchester City have worked wonders by developing youth star Phil Foden and they should do likewise with Diaz and keep him for the future.
