Major Blow For Manchester United As Defender Move Rubbished By Manager

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has rubbished transfer talks regarding defender Diego Godin who has been linked with a €20m move to Manchester United.

When asked about these rumors, Diego Simeone said,

“Twenty? For Godin? It must be a mistake.”

Reportedly, Diego Godin have a £28.5m release clause in his contract, but after losing a host of star players who departed the club this summer including Diego Costa, Filipe Luis, David Villa and Diego, Atletico Madrid will try their best to convince Godin to stay even if United can match the release clause.

Manchester United strengthened their defense in Summer as they signed Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind, but injuries coupled with poor form has led to weak defensive displays on regular basis this season. Diego Godin is supposed to be their main target in January, now it looks like they need to look elsewhere to sign a defender.
