As per a report from The Sun, Leicester City are eyeing a move for Norwich City midfielder James Maddison as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez. The Championship star has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs and the report has claimed that the Foxes are ready to pay a sum of £17million to secure his signature. However, The Sun has confirmed that the likes of Manchester City are also keen on a deal, meaning Leicester will have to move quickly.

There has been a lot of speculation about Mahrez’s future with Leicester and according to The Sun, Maddison is a top target to replace the Algerian winger. He plays in a similar position as Mahrez and though he lacks pace, his creativity and technical knowledge more than compensate for it.

As one can see, Maddison has outperformed Mahrez on every level. It can be argued that it is not easy to play in a league as demanding as the English top-flight but consistency is key and based on what we have seen, the Norwich star is destined for the Premier League.
