Why must Leicester City do everything to get Yannick Bolasie from Everton
Leicester City are reportedly interested in Everton winger Yannick Bolasie and may bid for the player in the coming days. The Toffees are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old, especially after knowing the fact that Richarlison would be joining them from Watford.
Leicester’s Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Fulham and Turkish club Fenerbahce also have lodged an interest in the player, who is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park.
However, the Foxes need to do everything possible to get Bolasie, given the rationale that they have already sold star man Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City. The Congo international has the talent to make the difference at the King Power Stadium, something which the Everton fans missed due to his injuries.
Here’s why Leicester should do everything to get the player:
Player Analysis – Yannick Bolasie
Bolasie is a very talented player who exudes confidence and trickery on the ball to go past defenders. He is a very strong runner with the ball and uses his physicality and dribbling skills to shrug past opponents. The 29-year-old’s impressive height allows him to win aerial duels as well and be a threat from set-pieces.
He joined Everton after a fantastic spell with Crystal Palace, with the hope to further enhance his reputation. But as it turned out, the Congo international suffered an injury which kept him out of the Toffees’ squad for more than a year.
This has punctured his glowing confidence, which will take some time to come back. Now, Leicester City under Claude Puel need a game-changing player in the forward line after the departure of Mahrez.
Maybe, Bolasie is the man to take the baton left by the Algerian and be a difference-maker at the King Power Stadium. The 29-year-old certainly has big boots to fill but he has the talent to prove himself right.
This will be the right move for both parties given the conditions they find themselves in. While Leicester need a winger after a sale, Everton are looking to offload Bolasie to probably accommodate Richarlison.
It will also be a massive opportunity for Bolasie to make this chance count and regain some of his lost confidence.
