Mahrez And Albrighton On The Wings – Predicted 4-4-2 Leicester City Line-Up To Face Newcastle

Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Leicester City will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Rafael Benitez’s struggling Newcastle United, at the St. James’ Park on Saturday.

The Foxes have been in very impressive form since the appointment of Claude Puel as their new manager and have moved to 9th place in the Premier League table following their 1-0 win over Burnley this past weekend. The former Southampton boss will be hoping that his side continue their good run against the Magpies who are without a win in six games.

Defender Robert Huth will not be available for selection, while midfielder Matty James also remains absent for the Foxes.

Here’s how Leicester might line up against the Tynesiders at the St. James’ Park:

Manager: Claude Puel

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Danish shot-stopper will be hoping to add his 5th clean sheet of the season, against the Magpies on Saturday.

Danny Simpson (RB)

The former Newcastle United man will be looking to put on a strong showing on his return to the St. James’ Park this weekend.

Wes Morgan (CB)

The club captain is a permanent fixture in the backline for the Foxes and that should not change for the weekend.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire (CB)

The former Hull City centre-half has been a strong performer for Leicester since his move this summer. Should continue alongside Morgan against Newcastle.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

The youngster has been very impressive in the past couple of games and Puel might continue to stick with him ahead of Christian Fuchs.

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

The Algerian has put his summer transfer saga behind and has put in some very good displays in the past few games. Definite starter on the right-hand side.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

The youngster has become a mainstay in the middle of the park for the Foxes with strong performances week after week. Another definite starter for Puel.

Vicente Iborra (CM)

The former Sevilla captain is proving his worth for the Foxes after a slow start to life due to injuries. Should partner Ndidi in the midfield.

Marc Albrighton

Marc Albrighton (LM)

On the left-hand side of the midfield, former Aston Villa man Marc Albrighton should continue to feature from the kick-off against the Magpies.

Demarai Gray (SS)

Scored the winner last weekend against Burnley and has been enjoying a good run of form since Puel took over. Should start behind the striker.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

Upfront, it will be star striker Jamie Vardy. He will pose a huge threat to the Magpies defence with his movement and pace.
