Predicted Sheffield Wednesday Lineup To Face Bristol City In The EFL Championship
It’s three defeats in a row now in all competitions for Jos Luhukay and his side may yet slide alarmingly towards the wrong end of the table.
A trip to promotion hopefuls Bristol City is exactly what the Owls don’t need now, especially with Fernando Forestieri not yet ready to return and Ross Wallace out with a knock joining Barry Bannan, Tom Lees, Westwood, Marco Matias, Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher on the injury list.

Formation: 3-5-2
GK – Joseph Wildsmith
The local lad could be looking at his 18th league appearance of the season here in the absence of Westwood.
CB – Frederico Venancio
Luhukay has options at the back but the Portuguese defender looks sure to start in this role.
CB – Daniel Pudil
A solid member of the backline and another certain starter, all things being well.
CB – Morgan Fox
Bringing a good balance to the backline, Fox may return to the position he held in the league game against Villa recently.
RWB – Liam Palmer
Came on for Hunt in midweek who could be yet another injury concern for the Owls. Palmer should start this time if hunt misses out.
LWB – George Boyd
I’m not certain this role suits Boyd’s skills 100% but at least you know as a manager that he will give his all. So the Scot is bound to start again.
CM – Jacob Butterfield
The type of player who always threatens to explode into life and be part of a promotion campaign, but he has underwhelmed more than anything.
CM – Joey Pelupessy
May come back into the starting XI and anchor the three-man central midfield.
CM – Adam Reach
I’d prefer to see Reach in George Boyd’s position, though the manager knows best and clearly believes he needs his presence in the midfield.
ST – Atdhe Nuhiu
Jordan Rhodes was given the chance to impress against old boss Carlos Carvalhal’s Swansea side in midweek but, as his career continues to underwhelm, Nuhiu may well come back in for the league game but will have a tough time against this Bristol City defence.
ST – Lucas Joao
The 24-year-old Portuguese forward has tons of potential at this level, scoring 6 in 20 in a struggling team is a testament to that. The ex-Nacional man is bound to start once more at Ashton Gate and maybe Wednesday’s best chance of a result on the day.
