Arsenal were linked with a move for Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Julian Draxler this summer along with Paris Saint-Germain.
After publicly admitting that he wanted to leave the Bundesliga outfit, Draxler himself has put an end to the rumours surrounding his move out of the club in January.
The player is set to stay at Wolfsburg this season and while there may be rumours regarding his imminent move out of the club in January, the Bundesliga outfit are keen on keeping the player in the squad come what may.
Speaking to kicker, the 23-year-old said: “There will probably be rumours again in January, but I won’t be the one to start them.
“We are now playing the season. I am aware the club have a taken a clear position, and that’s why I play towards the summer and I am fully focused.”
Although it cannot be ignored that after the 2016-2017 season the player’s future at Wolfsburg is uncertain. The player was linked with a move to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain this summer, however, the Gunners signed Lucas Perez while the French club brought in Jese from Real Madrid.
The Gunners may look to sign the player next summer, although it may be an expensive deal to come by as Draxler is valued at a whopping £64m.
