Liverpool’s £90,000-a-week Forward Should Snub Real Madrid’s Interest And Stay Put At Anfield – Agreed?

Why Mohamed Salah Should Snub Real Madrid To Stay Back With Liverpool

When Liverpool completed the transfer for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah over the summer, little did they know that he would go on to establish himself as one of the best in the Premier League in his debut season itself. It almost feels like Salah has been a part of the Reds for years now and doesn’t seem like he joined the club only a few months back. He has established a remarkable working partnership with the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho. Often touted as Liverpool’s famed attacking quartet, these players have truly elevated the club’s overall displays this season.

However, recent reports have suggested that Salah, who earns £90,000-a-week may not stay at Liverpool for a long time. Owing to his electrifying performances for the Merseyside club, a lot of big clubs across Europe have been alerted and Real Madrid are understood to be one of them. The winger has been performing well on every level and he even scripted history about a month or two back when he scored the winning goal to help Egypt seal World Cup qualification. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the Spanish giants are harbouring an interest in him but should Salah pack his bags and move to Madrid?

It is quite clear that Real Madrid are not having the best of fortunes right now. They are 4th in the La Liga and have struggled in the Champions League as well. Although they are the defending champions in both these competitions, the fact remains that Zinedine Zidane’s men look like a shadow of their former selves. The manager was hailed for his tactics and team management last season but this time, the tables seem to have turned against them. They seem to be lacking a strong attack – which is what made them lethal last time – and Salah has been identified as the ideal solution to address their issues up front.

With that in mind, one must remember that a similar Premier League star made the switch to join Los Blancos and that has not worked out well for him. Gareth Bale, Tottenham’s golden boy, joined Real Madrid to achieve higher aspirations but he is spending most of his time recovering from injuries now. One might argue that Bale is more injury-prone than Salah but the Egyptian did only join Liverpool recently and there is so much more he could still achieve at this club.

Moreover, he has already established a stunning partnership with his fellow attackers at Anfield and to move to a different club in a foreign league and start from the scratch seems unnecessary for him at this point. Liverpool need him a lot more than Real Madrid do and he seems to have settled quite admirably into life under Jurgen Klopp.
