Liverpool vs Manchester City: Expected Line-ups, Team News, And Prediction

Liverpool vs Manchester City – Match Preview

In what can turn out to be the perfect end to a thrilling half of the Premier League season, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will travel to Anfield to take on an exciting Jurgen Klopp side in the last game of the year. Both teams have won their last three games in a comfortable manner and are in decent form but Manchester City have found it difficult to take anything from the Reds in the last couple of season and will hope to put in a better performance in this game. Liverpool have shown weaknesses at the back every now and then and if Guardiola’s side can beat the ‘press’ with their passing, they have a great chance to win this potential six-pointer.

Expected Lineup (4-1-4-1)

Predictions:

The last time City came to Liverpool, they were completely outplayed by Klopp’s side who managed to push them out of the game early in both halves. Though Pep Guardiola’s side is expected to put in a better fight this time around, the manager will know that any complacency from his side will gift all three points to the home side. Guardiola used a different system while in the Bundesliga to tackle Klopp’s high pressing game but at Manchester City, he will not be able to use another system with no ariel threat whatsoever in the front line for the side. Aguero will be a danger man but if Liverpool are able to get into their stride early in the game, Manchester City will find it hard to have any kind of an impact on the game. Playing at home, Liverpool are expected to take all three points and if they are able to do so, they will put a day-light between them and the Citizens who are in the danger of slipping into the 4th spot.

Our Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City
