Liverpool vs Everton Preview: Line Ups, Team News, Preview And Prediction

It’s the Merseyside derby on the Wednesday’s night where Liverpool and Everton will be colliding at Anfield.

Liverpool are finally getting their shape under Jürgen Klopp and are producing some good results. But, maybe it’s too little too late for the side to finish their campaign in the top four as they are still on the 8th position in the league. But, they still have their positive chances of winning the Europa League this term.

Everton on the other hand, are having their worst season under Martinez as they haven’t managed to win even a single game in their last 6 matches. After taking a lead, Everton dropped the points as they were unable to defend the equalizer scored by Mane in their last game. The toffees are currently 11th on the table and a win would take them above the defending champions Chelsea (goal difference).

Liverpool vs Everton Team News-

Jordan Henderson is ruled out for the rest of the season while Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are the long-term absentees. Emre Can has also been ruled out for the number of weeks due to his injury.

Klopp is heavily rotating his squad as an experiment but we hope we will see the star players in their next game.

For the Toffees, the club has confirmed that Jagielka, Cleverly, Baines and Lennon are out due to injuries, but haven’t confirmed the return date till yet. Coleman who suffered a hamstring injury in his last game may return. Luakaku and Barkley didn’t start their previous game and we can see their return against Liverpool.

Key Stats-

In their last 7 head to head games, Liverpool have won once and the rest have ended in a draw.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the last 11 matches against Everton in all competitions, with 4 wins and 7 draws.

Liverpool haven’t lost to Everton at Anfield since 1999, which now stays at a 17 match unbeaten run at home for Reds.

Everton are without a win in their last 6 Premier League games

Prediction-

We all are aware of the fact that Everton are the struggling side this season and also, the home support of Liverpool has been a key reason for their success. Klopp is still working to set a permanent XI but he is succeeding in all his experiments.

Everton, on the other hand, are in a poor form but Barkley and Lukaku can turn the results on their head. Liverpool has lost just 1 out of their last 6 games whereas, Everton has lost 3. Liverpool are in a good scoring form and everyone expects them to score at least 2 goals in the game. Their high attacking brand of football is surely thoroughly being enjoyed by the fans and I honestly feel, Everton won’t be a trouble this time for Liverpool.

3-0 Liverpool
