Liverpool play host to the much anticipated high octane Merseyside derby when they welcome eternal foes Everton to Anfield.
Despite the usual hype surrounding the fixture, both teams find themselves in the opposite ends of the spectrum with the Reds fighting for the Premier League title whilst Everton find themselves in a relegation scrap.
The Reds emerged 4-1 winners in the previous encounter between these two sides back in December with a brace from Mohamed Salah and goals from Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson helping Liverpool overcome Demarai Gray’s solitary goal for Everton.
Despite this, the stakes involved in such a huge derby will bring both teams’ best out, and Everton is likely to bring their A game to the fore.

Their last match in the Premier League was also against Pep Guardiola’s men. In a match that was crucial in the title race, both teams shared the spoils with the game ending 2-2.
Although as it stands, the Premier League title is no longer in the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s team but that must not deter them from continuing to fight and hoping for City to slip up.
The game against Everton will be essential for the Reds to win and it is expected that they do so against Frank Lampard’s team.
Player to watch: Mohamed Salah
After weeks and weeks of flawless performances, the Egyptian’s goal output has dipped in the past few weeks.
Whilst Jurgen Klopp has insisted that there is nothing to worry about with regards to his talisman’s form, he will be hoping that Salah can get back to the scoring ways as soon as possible.
Everton Preview
Contrasting fortunes have engulfed Frank Lampard’s men as they have struggled to get themselves out of the relegation scrap and reach safety.
Although they won their previous match against Manchester United, it was a win in the Premier League after three straight defeats.
Lampard’s men find themselves just one position above the relegation zone three points ahead of Burnley.
It is an extremely unlikely event for Everton to beat their eternal foes, especially with the kind of form Liverpool are in and it is probably going to be another long night for the Reds.
Player to watch: Jordan Pickford
Although the English shot-stopper is frustrating to watch at times, he seems to step up big time whenever Everton play a big team.
Frank Lampard will want his goal-keeper to be at his absolute best when his side take on Liverpool as he looks to stop the prolific attacking talents of Liverpool from putting a ball into the net.
