Liverpool Transfers: Why Rodgers Consider This Super Brazilian As Suarez Replacement?

Nowadays, around the Merseyside club, Luis Suarez’s probable transfer rumours are the only talk-of-the-town. Each morning is filled up with transfer rumours, without any fruitful conclusion at the end of the day. But not everything is gibberish. If a surmountable bid comes in favour of the Reds, they won’t have any other option except to bid adios to the Uruguayan.

If Suarez actually follows the exit door, then Liverpool would be in a need of an alternative. Already they are being linked with Diego Costa, a definite replacement. A Brazilian international, Costa currently plies his trade at Atletico Madrid. Let’s have a look why Liverpool should buy Diego Costa?

Awesome season– 2012-2013 season has been terrific for this 24-year old striker. He appeared 44 times for the La Liga side securing 20 goals. 10 of them have come in the league. On his 31 appearances, he has created 37 goal scoring chances. And when it comes to keeping the ball in the right direction, he has a 63% shot accuracy. With such statistics, he can be a good deal for the Reds.

A decent replacement- If the rumours ultimately see the daylight at the end of the transfer season, Luis Suarez will be scoring goals for others and Rodgers will have to count his fingers. So, it’s better to take precaution rather than to face the fans’ rage. With the choices of Daniel Sturridge, Iago Aspas and Fabio Borini, Diego Costa can certainly be a respectable name alongside them. If Suarez does not leave Anfield, then with a 75% avg. pass accuracy and 13m avg. pass length, the Brazilian can add some attacking approach from the midfield.

He is probably the best Liverpool can get at the moment- Anfield is nowadays not a favourable choice for the prolific biggies. Fund has been always a barricade for the Reds managers. In such a scenario, Rodgers should aim for not-so-hyped players, but players who can turn the game for the Reds. Only 24-years old now, Costa can certainly fit the bill as he is a promising player who has proved his worth in La Liga.

Now is the time to act for Brendan Rodgers. The alternatives of Costa are really blurry at the moment. And the addition of David Villa and Leo Baptistao in the Spanish side has made the road clear for Costa’s transfer. An appropriate bid for Diego Costa can certainly land him at the Anfield this summer.
