According to a report from Telegraph, Liverpool are set to sign Fulham wonder kid Harvey Elliott as he has a rejected a scholarship with the Cottagers.
The English U17 star made huge waves when he became the youngest player ever to make a debut in Premier League last term and since then, he has been the subject of transfer links to the European elite like PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid (h/t Telegraph).
The report also adds that Liverpool are set to hand the Cottagers a healthy compensation for the transfer of Elliot.
Prior to his promotion to the main team, Elliot was an integral part of Cottagers’ U18 side and the reserves team as well, racking up 5 goals and 4 assists in the process.
Furthermore, the former Queens Park Rangers youth product represented the Three Lions U15 and U17 teams in the same year, bagging 5 goals.
Predominantly a winger on both sides of the flanks, Elliott can also play as a central attacking midfielder.
Since deemed as a teenager with lack of first team experience, Elliott can be a fruitful addition to the Reds’ youth or reserves set up. Yet, he has the tendency to break into Klopp’s playing 11 at ease.
The German manager hasn’t relied heavily on a winger-heavy formation since Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah played more as inside forwards. And the lack of creativity in the midfield in the previous season was also witnessed through the injury struggles of Naby Keita.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside club also failed to provide enough chances for the reserves players as they stuck to familiar playing 11, resulting from a taut title race with Manchester City.

Given that, the Reds should consider giving enough chances to the youngster and the players in the reserves set-up, who are thriving for enough first-team chances.
Klopp is yet to make his mark in the current transfer window as he has set the Premier League crown as his first and foremost objective.
And beginning the transfer spree with a player who can add much to the Red’s long-term future would not be a bad move at all.
