Liverpool signing this 32-year-old West Ham star would get them a fantastic backup for a crucial position next season

Liverpool opinion: Should the Reds consider making a move for Adrian?

Liverpool have had a fantastic season and it’s not yet over, with the Reds yet to play in their second consecutive Champions League final. It’s a phenomenal achievement for the club.

It’s been 29 years since the last time the club lifted the Premier League title and with Manchester City outdoing them by a single point, it seems they’ll have to wait another season.

But that shouldn’t prove to be too much of a problem for the club as they have the players ready to challenge. All manager Jurgen Klopp has to do is make a few changes here and there to reinforce his team.

They’ll need back-up full-backs on both sides, a central midfielder maybe and an attacking midfielder. The club also needs another back-up goalkeeper with Loris Karius rather enjoying his stay in Beskitas now.

His loan spell is for two years with an option to buy, which leaves the club lacking depth. Simon Mignolet has played second fiddle to Alisson Becker for the entire season but the Reds have finally agreed to let him go.

The report from the Daily Mail further adds that the club are open to a move but only if the price tag is met.

While it’s well and good for the Belgian, it does mean that Liverpool need another back-up goalkeeper and they have been attracted by Adrian. The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Reds are keen on a move for the Spaniard with his contract ending at the end of the summer.

Currently, at West Ham, the 32-year-old has struggled to find his way back into the team. That’s simply because West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini prefers last summer’s signing Lukasz Fabianski, which has seen Adrian play 0 Premier League games.

Instead, the 32-year-old has played five games in cup competitions over the season, making it the only five games this season. His experience in the Premier League alone makes him very valuable, with the 32-year-old playing well over 100 appearances in the English top-tier.

Combine that with his ease at playing back-up and it’s one of the many reasons why Liverpool should consider a move.

Conclusion

Adrian is a talented and experienced goalkeeper for West Ham and the 32-year-old would make a brilliant signing for Liverpool. The Reds need a back-up and the Spaniard would make an astute back-up to Alisson Becker.
