Why Liverpool must go all out to sign Luka Jovic
Luka Jovic was the star for Eintracht Frankfurt in the previous season as he fired goals in for fun.
The Serbian bagged 27 goals in the Bundesliga and Europa League combined and also bagged six assists for the German club.
That earned him a big-money move to Real Madrid in the summer, however, it hasn’t gone all well for the 21-year-old.
Marca (h/t Mirror) claims that Zinedine Zidane hasn’t been impressed by the forward and could be allowed to leave on loan.
Quality cover for Firmino
Liverpool were extremely quiet in the summer window and didn’t land any first-team outfield players.
The Reds seem to trust the likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri to provide cover to the first-team front three, however, Jovic would be an excellent signing for Jurgen Klopp.
Jovic would provide great cover for Roberto Firmino while he would add the competition for places in the front three.
The Reds have experimented with Origi playing in place of Mane and that hasn’t always worked out well.
Shaqiri seems to have fallen out of favour at Anfield and a loan deal for Jovic would be one of the smartest moves, should the Reds finalise a deal with Madrid.
Should any of their forwards pick up a major injury, the Reds would be in a spot of bother.
The 21-year-old is a quality forward to have on the books and Liverpool should be an attractive destination to any player after their growth under Klopp.
Signing the Serbian on a loan deal would be a low-risk move for the German manager, but Klopp hasn’t spent a lot in winter windows since joining the Reds.

Steven Caulker was one of his bigger signings in a winter window, but if a lot of money doesn’t have to be spent on Jovic, the Reds could use him.
Liverpool have a quality starting XI and Klopp was probably right in not spending big and adding someone in the summer.
However, landing someone like Jovic on a loan deal is a fantastic opportunity that should not be missed, even if it is only for half a season.
