Liverpool Selling Their Attacker Is A No-brainer, But Is He The Right Man For West Brom?

Forgotten Man To Be Gone? – It Is A No-brainer For Liverpool To Sell Danny Ings And Here’s Why

With just two wins so far this Premier League campaign, West Bromwich Albion are a club in trouble. They have a lot of work to do if they are to move away from the danger of relegation zone and Alan Pardew will be desperate to add some quality to his side, come the January transfer window.

The Baggies have still been a decent defensive unit, conceding just 22 goals but they have scored just the 12 this season, which is a pattern that will concern the new manager.

Salomon Rondon remains Pardew’s first choice striker but his backups in Jay Rodriguez and Hal Robson-Kanu, have just not done enough to stand as options to lead the attack for the side this season.

This has left the Baggies in search of a striker, who can add goals and creativity to their attack and one name constantly doing the rounds is Liverpool star Danny Ings.

Ings On The Move In January?

Jurgen Klopp’s men have a plethora of talent at their disposal, especially in the attacking front. Ings, who is back from two consecutive season-ending injuries, has found it hard to break into the first team.

The Englishman came off the bench for Liverpool’s 0-0 draw vs West Brom recently but at 25, he will need regular game time at the highest level to improve as a player. And it does seem like Jurgen Klopp will now be forced to send the English striker out on loan.

Most clubs in the bottom half of the table, along with a few in the Championship are desperate for Ings but is he the right man for the Baggies?

Known for his aggression and industry in the final third, Ings is a technically gifted player who knows his way to goal. He is pro-active, constantly finds space in dangerous areas and is usually clinical inside the box. The former Burnley star can also play as a target man but is at his best when playing through defences, which might not make him the best fit for the Baggies.

The likes of Rondon are specialists in feeding off scraps and are effective when playing alone, on the shoulder of the final defender. Ings thrives on constant supply and would struggle to fit in at the Hawthorns.

However, against smaller sides in the league, Ings’ quality in and around the box could make a huge difference for Pardew’s side. With Rondon his only real threat to the first team, Ings will have enough starts at the Hawthorns, so it is a no-brainer for Liverpool but is he the right man for West Brom? That remains to be seen though.
