Henderson Misses Out, But Lovren Makes The Cut: Liverpool Predicted Playing XI To Face Arsenal

After a 16-day long break after the win over Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool returned to action in the league last weekend, but things did not go as planned, as they were taken to the ropes by the Champions of England, Leicester City. Jurgen Klopp will be livid with his team’s performance in that game but will hope that they can get back to form when they welcome Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal to Anfield on Saturday. The Gunners lost the reverse fixture at home in the first game of the season and will hope to extract revenge. But Liverpool’s record against top-6 teams will need Arsenal to be at their best to take anything away from this game. Klopp will hope that his side are charged up for this game and will hope to steal three points.

Team News:

The Reds will still be without skipper Jordan Henderson, who is nursing an injury he picked up before the Leicester game. However, Klopp will welcome back the likes of Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge, both of who could play big roles in this game against Arsenal.

Predicted Liverpool line-up to play Arsenal:

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK):

Liverpool may have conceded 3 goals against Leicester City but Mignolet’s good performance in that game should see him keep his place in the goal.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB):

The English full-back was decent in the loss to the Foxes but Klopp will need him to do a bit more in this game against Arsenal.

Joel Matip (CB):

The Cameroon defender has been the backbone of the Liverpool defence for some time now but he will be up against the league’s top scorer, Alexis Sanchez and hence he’ll have to be at his best.

Dejan Lovren (CB):

Though missed the last few games for the club, Lovren is back fit for this tie and should replace Lucas Leiva in the first team for Liverpool.

James Milner (LB):

The veteran midfielder turned full-back has shown problems in lasting the full 90 minutes of a game, but after a week’s break, he should not have a problem starting this game.

Emre Can (CM):

Though decent in the game against Leicester City, Can has had an ordinary season so far and will hope to rectify it with a good performance against the Gunners on Saturday.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM):

The Dutch international had a rather dull game at the King Power and he will hope to turn things around and help his side to a victory this weekend.

Adam Lallana (CM):

Lallana was another player who failed to have an impact in the game against Leicester. He is an important part of the plans for Klopp and should start as a part of the midfield 3 for Liverpool.

Sadio Mane (RW):

The Senegalese winger was not able to weave his magic in the previous game but he will hope to get the better of Nacho Monreal when he faces Arsenal at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho (LW):

The only goal scorer for Liverpool in the previous game, Coutinho was not great in open play but he is also a big game player and will be the danger man who Arsenal have to watch out for.

Roberto Firmino (CF):

Had a disastrous game against the Champions last week but has generally been decent against top sides and Klopp will hope that he can help his side to a victory in this game.
