Liverpool or Manchester United? What Is The Perfect Destination For This Premier League Prodigy?

The start of the season saw Reece Oxford make an instant impact in the game against Arsenal. The West Ham midfielder was set to steal the show with his incredible display in midfield but was rarely seen under Slaven Bilic post that performance at the Emirates.

The 17-year-old could only play 12 games all season for the Hammers and could be seeing his future somewhere else as the West Ham park already has a lot of creativity and steel in midfield, Reece for his part is someone who is willing to make a run or two but at the moment, he isn’t the one who will get a lot of games next season for the club.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with a bid for the English midfielder and both clubs have their own pros and cons for the 17-year-old but one has more pros than cons at the moment.

Going to a club in red, but which one?

The youngster would be a great player in the future if his growth is dealt with in the right manner. Jose Mourinho seems to be set to take over at United and that would be a great problem for most of the young players, especially if someone from another club joins the club.

Reece would want to play more games and going to United would not make a lot of sense seeing that West Ham are also in Europe and both clubs could give the midfielder a chance of starring for them in a few games.

The biggest thorn in the issue would be Mourinho’s decision to not play a lot of games with young players. Reece moving to Liverpool would be the best option for the talented player as he looks to continue his growth.

Liverpool also need some steel in midfield and based on the performances from the youngster, he would be a great fit at the club. Reece under Jurgen Klopp could develop into one of the best in the Premier League if things go right.

Klopp has also shown his trust in the youth setup at Anfield and that would mean more chances for Reece. Brad Smith, Cameron Brannagan, Kevin Stewart and Sheyi Ojo are just some of the players who got a lot of playing time at the club and Oxford could well be another star doing well at the club.

West Ham for their part would not want to part with their youngster and the best option for the London club would be to send the 17-year-old out to loan in one of the other clubs in the Premier League, especially if they can guarantee regular first team football.

At the moment, Wets Ham seems to be a club who are better positioned than Liverpool and Manchester United and the English midfielder should think twice before making a switch. A great manager, a new stadium and a great playing style should mean that Reece stays at the club for a little longer, hopefully Slaven Bilic can keep him for much longer.
